Winter Training Program

Join at your home pain cave weekdays for 1-hour indoor cycling sessions targeted at developing your fitness and having fun in a group environment. Weekend group rides will be scheduled to build volume and fitness over the winter months.

Improve Your Fitness and Technique

Join BUILD Cycling Academy on Zwift for weekly training sessions, group rides, and races from the "comfort" of your own pain cave. Connect your Smart Trainer, set up your Zwift and Discord accounts, and join the BUILD Zwift Club to get started! Winter programming runs from January to March. 

Weather permitting, outdoor group rides are scheduled to complement indoor training. Riders will primarily focus on zone 2/base training, extending duration, and building durability with progressively longer and/or more difficult rides. Early season race preparation will be a component of this for riders signed up for spring events.

Yes, this is a pre-season training block that runs Jan to March to help riders build a strong aerobic foundation over the winter months with consistent riding, baseline fitness/VO2 max testing, and progressive group rides to build community with their teammates. This leads into the regular BUILD season that starts in April. 


All virtual rides are scheduled and coached, so your rider will have support and coaching on these rides. 


MTB is all you need for outdoor rides. For indoor trainer rides, you can use any bike available that connects to a smart trainer and Zwift. Road bikes with larger gears are beneficial for virtual rides. 


For indoor workouts, a smart trainer that connects to Zwift and a bike that fits on the trainer. Any bike type is fine for indoor training. 

Discord account (free) to chat with teammates on the indoor rides.

Account on www.intervals.icu for training plan and analysis by coaches


  • Weekends = group ride, weather permitting (backup ride is on Zwift)
  • Weekdays = at least 2x group workouts on Zwift, scheduled in the evenings after school is out
